How to Apply for a Programme
Applying to be a Student at Laksamana
There are some simple steps you can take that will help to ensure that you make the best decision about what academic programme you want to apply for. The following paragraphs describe these steps.1. Firstly, Decide What Programme to Enrol In
The process of applying to be a student at Laksamana College begins with deciding which academic qualification you want to gain. There are many different academic programmes in business, hospitality and IT that are taught at Laksamana College. What programme you join will depend on your current qualifications, your employment aspirations, your interests, your current skills and knowledge, as well as your future academic aspirations. You will be enrolling in an academic programme for between one (certificate level programme) and three years (degree programme). Therefore you need to be sure you have chosen a programme that you will enjoy and that you feel you will be successful in. Your education will be a part of a much larger personal plan that includes future employment and further education. Therefore you will need to confirm that the academic programme you want to enroll in will help you to achieve your academic and employment goals.2. Look Closely At The Programme You Have Chosen
All academic programmes are very well documented and you should familiarise yourself with the information available that describes each programme. The prerequisites for certificate, diploma and degree programmes are all different and sometimes confusing! Once you have decided on what you want to do it is perhaps best to check with staff in the administration office at the College to see that you have all the required qualifications to be able to apply. Ensure that you have considered funding for your studies, when programmes and courses are offered, and the term dates published in the College Calendar.3. Talk To People
Laksamana College has many experienced administration staff and teaching staff that can provide you with advice about different courses and academic programmes. In particular, administration staff are very familiar with the rules and regulations that go with different academic programmes and they are therefore well-placed to help you decide which programmes are most suitable for you. Consider talking to current students and Laksamana graduates to discover some of the tacit and nuanced understanding about programmes that is not in the course and programme descriptions.4. Begin The Application Process!
You may begin the application process by going to the Laksamana College Office. Staff will be happy to help you to fill in the form and advise you what additional documents you will need to attach to your application.
